You are invited to a Health Fair hosted by Palatine Township at the Township Office. Please see the list of FREE services provided and for which no appointments are necessary:
Amplified Telephones for the Hearing Impaired from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Have a "live" test on each of four amplified phones available FREE to qualified residents with a certified hearing loss and working land line telephone service. There are no age or income restrictions to qualify for this program.
Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar Screenings
Have your blood pressure and / or blood sugar checked courtesy of Dominick's.
Foot Care
Do you have questions for a Podiatrist? A doctor with the Illinois Podiatric Medical Association will be on hand to check feet, answer questions and provide educational literature.
Hearing Loss Screening
We will be offering Hearing Loss Screenings to all interested parties 18 years of age or older in partnership with the Palatine Lions Club. Take a few minutes to stop by to protect your hearing through this early alert system test.
Macular Degeneration and Retinal Neuropathy Screening
In collaboration with the Palatine Lions Club and Illinois Retina Associates, S.C., pictures will be taken of the eyes of participants 18 years of age and older (10-17 with written parental consent) to check for retinal diseases, including macular degeneration. Diabetic Retinopathy is the leading cause of new blindnes in adults in America today. Early detection greatly enhances the visual prognosis and outcome for patients with all retinal diseases. This screening could save you a lifetine of darkness.
Medicare Questions and Enrollment
Medicare experts from the Palatine Township Senior Citizen Center will be on hand to provide information about Medicare, answer questions and assist with Medicare enrollment. They will also provide information about entitlement programs for health insurance and prescription drug coverage and the new Medicare Preventative Services.
Organ and Tissue Donation Registration
"Life Goes On". A representative from Donate Life Illinois will attend to provide information about the state's Organ/Tissue Donor Program, answer questions and help with registration.
Spinal and Scoliosis Screening
A doctor with the ICPA will be here to check your spine for adults and children. Keeping your spine in alignment is important for your overall health.
