The Palatine Township Food
Pantry
The Palatine Township Food Pantry
is a source of nutrition that serves senior citizens, the disabled and
low-income families and individuals, who reside in the Township, with
non-perishable food on a monthly basis. Presently, the Pantry is assisting
approximately 180 families a month. Most of the food in the Pantry comes from
donations by individuals and food drives sponsored by schools, churches, civic
groups and businesses. Food drives are always needed to keep our shelves
stocked, but each and every individual donation adds up, enabling us to fulfill
our mission. For creative food drive ideas,

Non-Perishable Food Items:
At this time, we are
particularly low on the following items: instant
mashed potatoes, spaghetti sauce,
peanut butter,
jelly, crackers, cold cereal,
Tuna/Hamburger
Helper, dry soup and toilet paper. Our
website is a good resource to visit often to view these changing needs.
Donation Drop-Off:
The Food Pantry operates
year around, and we gratefully accept all non-perishable and monetary donations
at the Palatine Township Center, 721 S. Quentin Road, Palatine. Our hours are
Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m.
and 12:00 noon. Those delivering large quantities, such as donations through
food drives, please call (847) 358-6700, EXT. 6110 prior to delivery to assist us
in making the necessary arrangements.
Market Day:
Our Pantry coordinates with District 15 schools for participation in their
Market Day Program. The schools select a month to support the Pantry through
Market Day, and the Food Pantry helps select the items. Supporters of Market
Day are given the opportunity to purchase items to be donated to the Palatine
township Food Pantry. Everyone wins with this program: the school raises money,
the Food Pantry and, thus, Pantry clients receive quality frozen food items.
