Community Events and Involvement

During the year, Palatine Township collaborates with numerous organizations in coordinating food drives, festivals, and fund-raising.  This community involvement benefits the residents of our township.

Child Safety and Abduction Prevention Program:

Every Spring, Palatine Township partners with the Palatine Police Department to sponsor this program for children age 7-12 years old and their parents.  Officer Rick Clayton, Crime Prevention Specialist, discusses the precautions children need to take to live safely in today’s society.  The program is offered annually in mid-May.  There is no fee for the program, however, registration is required.

Bike Bonanza:  Every spring, Palatine Township hosts its “Bike Bonanza,” an event which centers on fun-filled biking activities.  The event includes a bike auction, bicycle registration, obstacle courses, demonstrations, safety instruction, and more!  Detailed information about the event will be available on the website in late spring.

Program Partnerships:  Palatine Township and Girl Scouts-Illinois Crossroads partner to sponsor programs for girls in the community, age 8-12.  These programs include “Uniquely Me,” designed to foster self-esteem, “Girl Power,” which stresses the importance of standing up for yourself, and “Go Girl Go” which focuses on leading an active and healthy life style.  The program is normally run in late November, check the website in mid-summer for dates and registration information.

Palatine 4th of July Parade:  Every July, representatives from the Palatine Township board participate in the Palatine Jaycees 4th of July Parade and collect food from parade attendees for the Palatine Township Food Pantry.

Downtown Palatine Street Fest:  This summer event provides the opportunity for Palatine Township to meet Township residents, provide voter registration and hand out information on Township programs.
