ACCESS TO CARE PROGRAM
If you can’t afford to see a doctor and
live in suburban Cook County with:
-
A family of less than 200% of the federal
poverty guidelines
-
No health insurance (or deductible of
$500 or more per person) and
-
Ineligible for Medicare or Public Aid
-
You may be eligible for Access to Care
Non-Refundable Annual Enrollment Fees
are:
$20 for one person
$40 for two people
$50 for three or more Adult Members in one
family
Access to Care Offers:
Doctor Office Visits for - $5
Prescription Medication for - $10 - $20 -

Court ordered
child support paid out or child care costs can be deducted from the applicant’s
income if verification is included with the application.
NICOR GAS ‘SHARING’ PROGRAM
To qualify for a “Sharing” grant, you must:

Be a residential
heating customer of Nicor Gas
·
Be ineligible for
state or federal energy assistance programs
·
Have an annual income
above $150 but not except 200% of the federally
established poverty level.
·
The General
Assistance Department is currently taking applications for this Program.

LIHEAP PROGRAM
The Illinois Low Income Home Energy
Assistance Program (LIHEAP) can assist QUALIFIED Palatine residents with their
heating and electric bills for the winter season. This program will start up
September 1, 2007 for the 2008 season.

The General Assistance
office will complete and submit applications for residents of the Township who
qualify for these income based programs.

Contact the General
Assistance Office to see if you qualify and schedule an appointment to see a
caseworker. You will be asked to bring various documents to verify
residency and additional data, depending on the program.
